Hey all, so much has been going on in the WEINLAND camp its been near impossible to try and keep up with everything! Just a quick note this time: We're making a new record! We're recording in Portland, Oregon this October and hope to have this baby on the streets by March. The songs are coming along well and we're excited about them.

Check out our MusicFestNW dates on our tour page!!

To Our Beloved and Distant Friends:

I do declare, this morning WEINLAND, a Portland Rose currently resting in the fine city of Charlotte, NC, awoke to a meal of home-cooked egg and grits casserole. The local fare was delectable, but I do declare the company to be above the line of excellence. Obviously born with the gift of gab, WEINLAND gathers in the den, after a scrumptious meal, to spin classic yarns of Portland. And I do declare, in our discussion the subject of our Aladdin Theater show did come up! and I recalled the need for correspondence. Please join us:

The Aladdin Theater

All Local / All Ages

WEINLAND - (Yours Truly)
Norfolk & Western - (One of the most influential groups of musicians in NW Independent Music)
A Weather - (Local, soon to be national, darlings of the guy/girl whisper pop movement, opening the show)

Visit The Aladdin Theater website for tickets and more details: http://www.aladdin-theater.com/

Of course, we always recommend getting tickets in advance, but in this case... this is by far the biggest venue we've ever played without being a part of a larger festival or production.. so we believe there will be lots of tickets at the door and we'll need your help promoting! Please get tickets, spread the word, and bring your friends and family to largest and most important WEINLAND show to date... we're in this together!

The tour is going very well and WEINLAND has been well received across the country. In North Dakota we played a youth center for kids who have been displaced from their families and homes. In New York City we rocked a roof top party in downtown Brooklyn. In St. Paul we accidentally left Lyles (our drummer) in the venue after the show and he was locked inside while the alarm blared for over an hour before the police arrived on the scene and set him loose. In Baltimore we played inner city golf with the locals after the Celtics game, hitting 300 yard drives down deserted city streets. In Baltimore the opening act was a 350 pound man in a g-string wrestling with a 98 pound woman in sultry attire. And now in North Caroline we enjoy grits and air-conditioning delivered with unparalleled southern hospitality.

We're looking forward to being home next week and hope to see everyone at our homecoming show on the 28th!

Love,
xo,

Hey All - we're moving fast to finish booking our East Coast tour which starts in just less than three weeks! The shows are looking nice and we're hoping to meet lots of new good people on this trip, as we did on the West Coast leg, which we just wrapped up!

We want to make sure our Oregon friends know about our coming home show at The Aladdin Theater on June 28th! Tickets are already on sale and we recommend grabbing yours early as this will be an amazing show with WEINLAND -- Norfolk and Western -- and A Weather. These homecoming shows are the best to catch because we're at the top of our game with lots of great road stories.. hey! after our homecoming show last weekend we had a spontaneous jam with Colin and Chris of the Decemberists and Dave and Rachel of Norfolk.. Not to be missed! You never know what'll happen.

CD Release party is selling well, get tickets in advance! La Lamentor is getting great national press.. here's a smidge:

"Portland, Ore., band led by Adam Shearer puts forth fragile, folky songs that at times evoke elements of Neil Young. (Not all evokers of Neil Young are worth spending time with, but this act is.) - USA TODAY

"La Lamentor follows and expands upon the warm, folky songs we’ve come to love and expect from this band." - MUZZLE OF BEES
